Description
According to the Rice Collection annotation, this is "Perry Knitting Mill from an early plate, 1880." That pre-dates the operation, but it does seem as though we're looking at the original Mill #1 building at an early date, prior to construction of Mill #2 in 1893. Downstream along the Silver Lake Outlet, at the right side of the photograph, is J.B. Hutton's Custom Cataract Mill. This latter building was demolished shortly after 1900.<br />
