Description

Community visitors are offered a variety of soft drinks at an open house held on May 21, 1953. “While the project is designed to acquaint people generally with operations of the company," a preview stated, "it will also demonstrate the potential job openings in this local industry” (Perry Herald 21 May 1953: 1). Thus, the festivities were intended to acquaint prospective employees with others currently working at the plant.

From the Rice Collection annotation: "The Mill set up a refreshment stand for their guests. The whole village was invited to visit and the school also came to see the Mill at work. Mr. McWithey and his force served the soda pop."
