Title
Women at work in the spinning room
Description
Six women are shown at work in the spinning room. According to the "Perry Knitting Company News," an occasional feature in the Perry Herald, they are: Laura Lounsbury, Stella Fronczak, Helen Stark, Irene Rohl, Genevieve Blaszak, and Margaret Howden.
As the caption explains, they are using a wool spinning frame to strengthen cotton yarn (seen on rolls at the top of the photo) by twisting it together with yarn on bobbins (seen at bottom and in Ms. Howden's hands).
Source consulted: Perry Herald 31 Mar. 1955: 3.
