Description
Green Empire Farms is a massive, 64-acre Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) operation in Oneida, NY. It is owned by the Mastronardi Produce company, a Canadian firm that also purchased three Intergrow Greenhouse locations in 2023. This location opened in August of 2019. Less than a year later it became notorious for a COVID outbreak, which revealed that hired migrant workers were not wearing masks and sleeping four to a room in local motels. At least 179 out of 300 Green Empire Farms tested positive.
