Description

Naturalistic landscape of idyllic lake is complicated by Andrews' use of impressionist blocks of color that flatten the picture plane into birch trees and a diorama behind them. Their leaf color suggests a time of late summer which, if true, helps explain a brown falling leaf suspended in the moment.
