Wolf Creek rises near the head of Silver Lake, in Castile, N.Y., and empties into the Genesee River three miles below the Lower Falls at Portage. For half a mile from its mouth the stream dashes over a series of Falls, Cascades and Rapids, between perpendicular rocky banks from 200 to 300 high - forming, in connection with the Portage scenery, a variety of wild and striking Views unequaled this side of the Yo-Semite Valley.
