The woman is seen to be washing clothing, using plastic buckets, one for sitting and one for washing. The man beside her is holding a child, a young, plump, baby who is no more than 9 months old. The setting of the photograph is a brick building with a rough, coarse ground of rocks and pebbles. The photograph itself is 9x13 1/4 in black and white and is matted to a 16 x 20 board.
