Description
Small mining town, located at nearly 10,000 feet, is best known for its gold rush history. This photograph appears in OpenValley because the Perry Knitting Company calculated that its production of Nitey Nite sleepers in 1952, if laid end to end, would total 1,788 miles in length. So Cripple Creek it was! The statistic appears on an advertisement for an open house held at the mill in 1953.
This item contains both the original color photograph and a b & w version created for an exhibit on the Perry Knitting Company.
