Description
Hondius (1891-1970), a New Deal Gallery artist, was born in Holland and fled Europe in 1915 amidst the Great War. He studied at Royal Academy in The Hague and the Laren Art Colony, then in New York at the Art Students League. He was known for his expressionist landscapes and paintings of circus performers.
