Title
The Genesee River
Description
The Genesee River was thought to be frequently used as a waterway for escaped slaves, and although this may be true in some locations, it is unlikely that the river near the town of Geneseo saw much traffic. Geneseo was a relatively developed industrial center in the mid-1800s, making it a risky stop for escaping slaves.
