The store was located in the Bussey Block, at the corner of Borden Avenue and Main Street. It was in business between 1911 and 1949, when it became the Rockwell-Perry store. According to its annotation, the photograph shows the store's second floor, featuring housewares: rows of plates, ice pitchers, irons, rolls of fabric, and linoleum samples. It shows a display created for windows of the Rockwell-Perry department store, located at the corner of Main St. and Borden Ave. The theme was <a href="https://openvalley.org/items/show/1542" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"Nitey Nite Songbirds"</a> and was promoted in the Perry Herald for the week of October 29 - November 4, 1951. We behold six mannequins dressed in Nitey Nite pajamas, along with a number of smaller dolls similarly attired. Artificial palm trees and birds in cages complete the array--behind a set of bars representing a zoo. In the foreground are two live flamingos. The birds correspond to pajama colors: flamingo pink, canary yellow, parakeet and hummingbird green, bluebird blue, and robin red.
