Title
Royce and Wright Department Store
Description
This is an interior shot of the Royce and Wright Department store in Perry, NY. The store was located in the Bussey Block, at the corner of Borden Avenue and Main Street. It was in business between 1911 and 1949, when it became the Rockwell-Perry store. According to its annotation, the photograph shows the store's second floor, featuring housewares: rows of plates, ice pitchers, irons, rolls of fabric, and linoleum samples. It testifies to a certain prosperity in the village of Perry: people had to make money to purchase the housewares.
