Constructed in 1967, the Brodie Fine Arts building is named in honor of William A. Brodie, a Geneseo attorney whose clients included various members of the Wadsworth family. Brodie was one of several local leaders whose efforts were instrumental in getting a Normal School located in Geneseo.
Many of the art shows staged by the Geneseo Migrant Center were held in the building's Bertha V. B. Galleries.
